Bolton Abbey in the West Dales Yorkshire, England
Bolton Abbey in the West Dales Yorkshire, England
$700.00
Sitting at the west end of the Yorkshire Dales is Bolton Abbey or actually priory. It was part of the church and its lands given by Henry VIII to the current owners family. The church building was stripped of all that could be turned into monetary gain such as the lead tiles, wood beams, stone and glass. But common need encouraged the family ancestors to keep the far west end of the priory intact to be used by the village as a church and still in use to this day. It sits amongst the sheep pasture and its animals.
